The first-year students received greetings in the Anichkov Palace

On the 30th of August 2019 a solemn celebration of the first-year students who entered Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics took place in the Carnival Hall of the Anichkov Palace.

The Carnival Hall of the Anichkov Palace is one of the most popular places, the territory of success and creativity in Saint-Petersburg.

The Day of first-year students is a real carnival with greetings, musical surprises, getting to know teachers and fellow-students.

According to the tradition the first to address the participants of the celebration was the rector of the Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics Oleg Smeshko: “Dear first-year students! You are lucky to study in one of the most beautiful cities of the world – Saint-Petersburg. Each day you will have a possibility to discover this city. I mention this fact to our first-year students from other regions. We have 60% of such students. Saint-Petersburg is a leading scientific and educational centre of Russia. And our university is a part of this immense scientific and educational complex. All the conditions are organized for you and you should not be lazy and be ready for hard work”.

One of the traditions is giving a symbolic “key of knowledge” to the first-year students by representatives of the Student council. They accepted the first-year students to their fellowship and wished good luck and interesting studentship.

The celebration finished by the student anthem "Gaudeamus".
