Greetings on International Women's Day!

The idea of International Women's Day is to bring attention to social, political, economic, and cultural issues that women face, and to advocate for the advance of women within all those areas.

International Women's Day originated at an international congress in 1910 in Copenhagen (Denmark). The congress was attended by women from 17 different countries. At that congress, a woman from Germany named Clara Zetkin suggested setting a special date to celebrate each year as an international women’s day when women all over the world would have an opportunity to hold special events and demonstrations in order to attract public’s attention to their problems.
