The Russian Museum, partner of UMTE, is the first state museum of Russian Fine Arts in the country. It was established in 1895 in St Petersburg by a decree of the Emperor Nicholas II. Its opening for visitors took place on March 19, 1898.

The Russian Museum today is a unique collection of artistic treasures, a famous restoration centre, a well established institute of academic research, one of the major cultural and educational centers in Russia, and a center for study and research of museum science, overseeing activities of 260 art museums in Russia.

The Russian Museum is actively engaged in educational work, it introduces to the world of art not only residents of our city, but also people from all over Russia and all over the world.

St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics hosts an informational center "Russian Museum: Virtual branch project" where the students and applicants of our University have an opportunity to get acquainted with the masterpieces of Russian art.

The virtual filial of the Russian Museum, one of the major museums in the world was open in February 2012 and was presented by a member of Russian Academy of Arts, distinguished artist and Honorary Professor of St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies Vladimir Gusev.
