Mysterious China: a journey to the land of contrasts

From April 10 to 19 Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics together with partner university Vladivostok State University implemented a unique program “Cross-Cultural Communications: Russia-China”.

The organization of this tour was aimed at introducing UMTE students to Chinese culture and the educational system of this country, developing Chinese language skills, and the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in cross-cultural communications. The participants of the program were students of the “Advertising and public relations”, “Media Communications”, “Tourism”, “Hotel Business”, “Linguistics” educational programs.

In Vladivostok, the participants visited Vladivostok State University, Yoshio Morimoto Toyama-Vladivostok Friendship Garden, and got acquainted with the unique sights of the city. In China, the participants of the program visited Yanbian University (Yanji), where they got acquainted with the Chinese education system and university infrastructure, the Korean village, went on a tour of Hunchun city, took part in a real Chinese tea ceremony and cooking show. The conversation with Chinese students who accompanied our group was also unforgettable.

The implementation of the program allowed to expand cooperation with Vladivostok State University, as well as to establish new international partnership – currently, active negotiations are underway to conclude a cooperation agreement for the implementation of joint research and educational projects between UMTE and Yanbian University.
