The Day of the Republic of Belarus was organized by students of the partner university

26 April 2024

On April 25, the Day of the Republic of Belarus was held at UMTE within the framework of the International Student Center. The event was prepared by students Victoryia Chyzheuskaya and Yulyana Liashchuk from our partner university - Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, who study at UMTE under the academic mobility program, as well as Ekaterina Kabaeva, student of the Institute of Economics and Finance of UMTE.

Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics has been cooperating with Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk for many years. Every year, about 20 students from the Republic of Belarus come to our university, whom we are always happy to welcome within the framework of academic mobility and cooperation between universities. They show excellent academic results and actively participate in university life, which contributes to the further strengthening of friendly relations between our universities.

Victoryia Chyzheuskaya, who is studying on the “Advertising and Public Relations” program at the Institute of Creative Industries and Hospitality, prepared a presentation about her home university: she told about Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, its unique traditions and customs, student life and much more.

Yulyana Liashchuk, who studies together with the UMTE students on "International Finance" program of the Institute of Economics and Finance, presented the itinerary of the main sights of the Republic of Belarus, which are definitely worth visiting.

A video quiz “Myths about the Republic of Belarus”, as well as a poetic flash mob and a test “How Belarusian am I?” were also prepared for university students. UMTE students have learned many interesting and diverse facts about this country. The most active participants who gave the most correct answers were given special gifts. At the end of the event, the participants were able to treat themselves to Belarusian potato flapjacks (draniki). The Days of Nationalities will continue in the future! We invite you to take part in them, or perhaps you would like to tell us about your country and become the organizer of the Day of your nationality.
