About 10 partnership agreements with technology leaders were signed by Russian universities during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024. St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics has signed an agreement with “Air Gateway of the Northern Capital” LLC, one of the three major air harbors in the country.
Over 18,000 guests from almost 140 countries took part in SPIEF-24. Among the delegates are politicians, scientists, government officials and the business community. This time the business program included four thematic tracks: “Transition to a Multipolar Model of the World Economy”, “The Russian Economy: Goals and Tasks of the New Cycle”, “Technologies Ensuring Leadership” and “Healthy Society, Traditional Values and Social Development – State Priorities”.
The most important issue of the large-scale economic forum concerned the need for close cooperation between universities and the real sector of the economy: this is, first of all, personnel training, development and implementation of new technologies. Staff training in the conditions of technological changes can be carried out only in constant interaction between employers and universities.
Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – 2024, St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics, among the largest Russian universities, signed another Cooperation Agreement in the field of practical training of students and employment of graduates with one of the largest and dynamically developing air transportation hubs in Russia - Pulkovo Airport.
The University has been actively cooperating for a long time with Pulkovo Airport in the field of organizing practical training for students. More than 30 students have already successfully completed an internship at the company. In addition, 5 career guidance events were organized for students. It is planned to further develop cooperation in the field of practice and internship of students, assistance in the employment of graduates, as well as joint implementation of projects and involvement of the company in the creation of educational programs of the university.
The agreement signed by Oleg Smeshko, Rector of UMTE, and Maria Yermak, HR Director of “Northern Capital Air Gateway” LLC, on behalf of the company, assumes long-term, partnership, mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties in the field of practical training and employment of students and graduates: all types of practical training and internships for university students, joint activities to promote employment for graduates university.
