Positive dynamics of cooperation with partners from Thailand

From June 12 to June 19, 2024, George Varlamov, Head of International Cooperation Department, visited partner universities in Thailand to discuss current projects as well as plans for the upcoming academic year.

During a visit to Walailak University (Nakhon Si Thammarat Province), official meetings were held with the university's management, employees of international services, as well as representatives of faculties with which education and science projects are already underway.

The eventful program of the visit included an acquaintance with the infrastructure of Walailak University, a meeting with students interested in participating in academic mobility programs at UMTE, as well as lectures on the business culture of Russia and the current state and prospects of development of the Russian economy.

The students listened to the presentations with great interest. After the presentation, the students were able to ask all their questions about Russia, peculiarities of doing business with Russian companies, mobility programs at UMTE. During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the exchange of teachers, as well as to the intensification of scientific cooperation.

During the visit to Kasem Bundit University (Bangkok), negotiations were held with the university management and representatives of the international department on new projects planned for the next academic year. Among such initiatives are the following: return visit of Kasem Bundit University delegation to St. Petersburg, further development of the international student project “Russia and Thailand: features and peculiarities for cooperation”, which this academic year united 60 students of the two universities in international virtual teams for more than a month, online lectures, exchange of teachers and many others.

At Kasem Bundit University, George Varlamov also gave a lecture on business culture and doing business in Russia, which was met with great interest as students from Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and other Asian countries were present in the audience.
