The university library participated in a large-scale study titled «Current State of University Libraries in Russia», conducted by the Russian Library Association. The results of the study are presented online.
The research aimed to assess the current state of university libraries, their strategic orientations, readiness to support national development goals, and to make effective decisions for further development.
Each library's rating is unique and serves as a benchmark for understanding which indicators require further development.
The library of UMTE participated in the study for the first time in 2024.
Research Indicators:
The library's collection volume is 219,924 storage units; the university subscribes to 5 electronic library systems; reader categories comprise 85% students and 15% scientific and educational staff, including postgraduates.
The library has implemented an automated library information system (ALIS) «Ruslan-Neo», allowing it to operate with full computerization of core library processes.
To create a modern library space in the digital environment, a transition to the library's website has been organized, which provides timely information about events taking place in the library; ensures access for students, postgraduates, and faculty to electronic library information resources; and serves as a structural component of the university's unified informational educational space. Access to the website is available 24/7.
The competencies of library staff include information retrieval, promoting library resources and services, digital literacy, project organization, and management.
Among the forms of work with students, courses on information literacy, cultural and educational activities, interest group meetings, and game libraries are in demand.
The library of UMTE is an integral part of the university's informational infrastructure.
