Third-year student of St. Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences in the field of «Advertising and Public Relations», Milena Shagaeva shares her vivid impressions of working at the federal territory of «Sirius».
The «Sirius» educational center is a unique project implemented at the Olympic site «Sirius» in Sochi. The center was established in 2015 at the initiative of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, with the aim of creating favorable conditions for the development of talented youth in science, technology, culture, art, and sports. The center brings together various educational programs and projects aimed at supporting and developing the talents of children and youth. Leading scientists, educators, coaches, and cultural figures work there, helping program participants achieve high results in their chosen fields.
Milena Shagaeva: «”Sirius” is a place where you grow, and your team grows as well. I was fortunate to be a curator in the Science direction «Physics». The children taught me about physics, and I, in turn, helped them with time management and the events organized for them. Gifted children come here after passing many competitions to get into «Sirius». The kids are ready to work and have fun, which is very valuable for a counselor and curator.
The wonderful team that I had the chance to work with helped me adapt at the beginning and understand the structure of the center. My colleagues were open to helping and sharing interesting moments about working there. The management of «Sirius» does everything possible for not only the children to develop but also for you to do so. The two shifts I spent there were fun and, unfortunately, went by very quickly.
The warm and pleasant climate, the sea, and numerous excursions accompanied me throughout my stay at the Center. «Sirius» left me with many positive impressions and memories of joyful stories. It’s a place you want to return to more than once.
I want to express my deep gratitude to my university for the opportunity to go and try myself in the role of curator and duty administrator».
