On August 28, 2024, a unique international telebridge took place between students from Russia and Mali. The event was organized by the Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics (UMTE) and the «Sahel Perspective» association, which united students from both countries to discuss key issues of contemporary youth policy.
The main theme of the telebridge was «Features of Youth Policy in Modern Society». Students from the Department of Management and Public and Municipal Administration of UMTE, the University of Bamako (Mali), as well as representatives from the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, participated in the event. The meeting was moderated by Nikita Viktorovich Klimanov, a lecturer at the Department of Management and Public and Municipal Administration at UMTE.
The telebridge served as a platform for constructive dialogue, where pressing issues such as the development of vocational education, environmental problems, youth migration, and the participation of young people in the political life of their countries were discussed. Participants emphasized the importance of international experience exchange for addressing the global challenges faced by the younger generation.
One of the key points of the discussion was the role of youth in building a sustainable future. Students from Saint Petersburg and Bamako shared their perspectives on how the younger generation can contribute to addressing the issues of the environmental crisis and social inequalities. Questions related to the challenges faced by youth in integrating into political and social structures, as well as the importance of supporting young leaders at both national and international levels, were also raised.
At the conclusion of the telebridge, students reached a consensus on the need to continue and develop such collaborative formats. The dialogue between Russian and Malian students not only allowed for an exchange of experiences and knowledge but also served as a starting point for future joint projects. There are plans to establish international youth initiatives aimed at addressing the discussed issues.
The event organizers express confidence that such initiatives contribute to strengthening cultural and educational ties between countries and help to form a more understanding and supportive global community.
