12 September 2024

A student of the Institute of Economics and Finance took part as a volunteer in the Council of High Representatives of the BRICS and BRICS+ Heads of State.

During the period from September10 to 12, 2024, the Council of High Representatives of the Heads of State of BRICS and BRICS+ countries was hosted in the President Library which was named after Boris Yeltsin. As a part of the event, they canvassed key subjects in such areas as politics and security, economics and finance, cultural and humanitarian contacts of BRICS members, of which there are already ten: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia. There is great interest from other countries to join the BRICS work.

Vladislav Karaulov is studying in the International Business Master’s degree program, which allows for unique possibilities to gain international experience and development of professional skills: «I thoroughly enjoyed participating in holding the event! I personally supervised delegations of the heads of Vietnam, Egypt, Nicaragua, India and Laos. I was in charge of logistics and coordinated transport support for the delegations. Also, I accompanied the interpreter of the President of Russia. I am sure that the experience I have gained will definitely be useful in my future professional career and will significantly improve my managerial competences!»

St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics actively participates in and organizes round tables and discussion platforms at various BRICS events:

●             «Green Society in Municipal Development: Experience of Russia and BRICS Countries» (2023)

●             BRICS+ Forum: «Youth as the main resource for development» (2022)

Since 2023, the University is a member of the International Association of BRICS+ Universities, which aims to expand cooperation between universities in the scientific and educational spheres.
