Russia is a Commonwealth Territory.

On September 10 and 11, 2024, students of Law Institute, accompanied by Alexey Dalinin (director of the Educational Youth Center for the Prevention of Terrorism and Extremism) and Maria Syrova (lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure) visited the «Commonwealth Territory» forum, which is dedicated to the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism.

Experts in the field of countering extremism and terrorism from the different regions of the Russian Federation, spoke at the forum. During the breakout sessions, the participants analyzed the current problems and challenges faced by modern society. The participants discussed a wide range of topics, experts exchanged knowledge and experience, and discussed necessary actions to prevent the spread of extremist and destructive ideologies and to protect young people from their negative influence.

Talking with young people about terrorism and extremism is an important step for shaping their worldview. These conversations help to develop mindsets, allowing young people to realize that violence and hatred are not solutions to problems, but a source of new conflicts.

Discussion of such sensitive topics allows raising the level of legal literacy, helping young people to distinguish truth from lies and learning how to analyze the received information correctly and independently. In addition, such conversations shape a sense of responsibility for their own actions and choices. After all, only together we could build a world without extremism and terrorism.
