On September 27, a solemn award ceremony for the winners of the research competition on the history of the defense and Seige of Leningrad took place at the "Nevskaya Ratusha." Among the winners is a young scientist from UMTE.
The competition has been held annually by the Committee on Science and Higher Education since 2022. In total, the researchers received 25 prizes. Ten of them were awarded to final-year university students, while five were given to graduate students, young researchers, and candidates of sciences. The amount of the awards has ranged from 50 to 200 thousand rubles. Participants from 20 universities in the city submitted applications for the competition.
The winners of the competition were welcomed by the Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education Andrey Maksimov: "I am deeply convinced of the validity of Mikhail Lomonosov's words: "A people who do not know their past have no future." And I am calm for our future, knowing which generation of researchers and patriots are being raised by Saint Petersburg's universities and scientific organizations."
Among the winners of the competition in the "Young Scientist" category is Anastasia Migunova, a leading specialist in the research department of Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics. Her work is dedicated to a comparative study of festive events and commemorative practices related to the history of Leningrad seige and is based on numerous archival files that have been introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.
