2024 in Saint Petersburg University of Management and Economics: A Year of Growth and Progress

The year 2024 was a year of significant achievements and growth for Saint Petersburg University of Management and Economics, particularly in the development of its scientific environment, educational process, and partnerships broadening.

Advancing Scientific Environment and International Partnerships

A delegation from UMTE participated in the Eastern Economic Forum, where business negotiations were held with the leadership of Liaoning University. The university has established agreements to further mutually beneficial collaboration in education and research over the past year. That include academic mobility programmes for professors and students, hosting joint scientific events, and collaborative research projects with more than ten universities.

Professors as Experts and Leaders

UMTE professors continued to prove themselves as distinguished experts, sharing their knowledge and experience at both international and national conferences. We are proud of our professors, who have become laureates of «Golden Names of Higher Education» prestigious awards. Additionally, some of them have successfully completed training under the Presidential Management Skills Programme opening new horizons for the university community.

Upgrade of the University Career Centre

In 2024, UMTE celebrated the grand opening of the renovated University Career and Vocational Guidance Centre. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Igor Murashev (Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Public Service and Personnel Policy of the Governor's Administration of Saint-Petersburg), Dmitry Dmitriev (Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Saint-Petersburg), Oleg Smeshko (Rector of UMTE) and Svetlana Avdashkevich (First Vice-Rector of UMTE).

Over the past year the Career Centre has become a hub for students, business competence trainings, forums and award ceremonies. It has also served as a meeting place for students, graduates, and employers creating new opportunities for professional growth and future employment.
