On January 23, an international seminar titled «Sustainable Development in Russia and Thailand» took place, bringing together professors and students from Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics and Kasem Bundit University (Thailand). The seminar provided a platform to discuss current topics of sustainable development across various economic areas, as well as to examine international case studies and best practices.
This seminar is yet another collaborative event of the partner universities, gathering about 50 participants who study sustainable development and are interested in a comprehensive discussion on this relevant subject. The Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics was represented by Associate Professors Ksenia Kuzmina and Georgy Varlamov.
The universities successfully built an efficient international student dialogue. Students from both universities were divided into certain themed groups, such as sustainable development in construction, logistics, restaurant business, finance, and other fields. This unique opportunity allowed them to interact, exchange insights, and engage in discussions in English on the seminar’s key topics.
In the final part of the event, students presented their projects to all participants, responding to questions from professors and students from other groups during a Q&A session.
The best project was awarded to an international group that analysed contemporary approaches and best practices in the construction industry. The students proposed forward-thinking and promising projects for the development of green spaces and eco-friendly areas in both Russia and Thailand.
As a result of the seminar, the most active participants received international certificates.
Representatives of Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics and Kasem Bundit University expressed their strong interest in further advancing academic and educational collaboration. They also invited participants for upcoming joint events, preparations for them are already actively underway.
