Happy Russian Science Day!

Science is not simply a field dedicated to acquiring new knowledge – it is a transformative force shaping the world around us, the main driving engine of scientific and technological progress. The development of Russia is impossible without preserving and strengthening the scientific potential that today serves as the key to a prosperous future.

Russian Science Day is celebrated annually on February 8. This holiday was established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation on June 7, 1999, «recognizing the outstanding role of domestic science in the development of the state and society, following historical traditions, and in commemoration of the 275th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Sciences in Russia.»

The contribution of UMTE to the advance of Russian science is proved by its inclusion in the list of institutions operating under the scientific and methodological guidance of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Behind every significant discovery, there have always been, and continue to be, enlightened people – scientists from research centers and universities, whose daily efforts, inquisitive minds, and ambitious ideas help to make life better.
