The “300 Laddu Holiday of Unity” brought together economics students on April 1st for a celebration of the Russian Youth Festival anniversary.
Prior to the main event, the guests enjoyed an Indian themed exhibition of paintings alongside with some Vietnamese cultural artifacts, from traditional clothes to figurines and décor. As the students from all the countries gathered, their Indian and Vietnamese peers took to the stage with their enchanting cultural performances.
The event was held not only to reminisce about the event, but also to showcase its lasting impact. The attendees learned about the Saint-Petersburg International Cooperation Club’s missions and future plans, as well as the World Youth Festival past and upcoming events. During a lottery one of our students won a thermos.
The closing photograph captured the cross-cultural connections and the atmosphere of warmth and inclusivity. The guests enjoyed traditional Indian laddu sweets, a popular type of confectionary in East Asian part of the world, made with gram flour, ghee, coconut, nuts and cardamon.
