On November 10, as part of the All-Russian project “NON-geographical Lesson”, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Alexander Baranov, delivered a lecture titled “Expedition tourism: A bridge between impressions and knowledge.”
Nowadays expedition tourism represents a unique phenomenon in the modern tourism industry, where leisure is intertwined with research activity. It is not just a trip, but a deep immersion into unexplored places with specific aims. The lecture emphasized how expedition tourism differs from classical formats: the presence of a certain research goal, a focus on discovery and study, and an active mode of travel.
Expedition tourism forms a new philosophy of travel for young people, where leisure becomes a process of learning, exploration, and personal growth. This area is a gateway to unique opportunities for young travelers to realize their potential and gain unforgettable experiences.
