A joint conference with Indonesian partners

The International Conference on Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship (ICEBE) is an annual event organized by our new Indonesian partner the Lampung University. This year, the partners reached an agreement to jointly hold this major scientific event, which for the sixth time brings together scientists, practitioners, teachers and graduate students studying current problems of the current stage of development of the world economy.

The theme of the conference is financial and digital transformation to ensure inclusive economic growth. This year's conference focused on financial innovation, including exploring the latest developments in fintech, blockchain and cryptocurrencies that are changing traditional banking and investment practices. In addition, the conference discussed the impact of digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence on improving efficiency, productivity and economic growth.

According to established tradition, the conference was held in a mixed format, which made it possible to significantly expand the geography of participants. This year's keynote speakers were from Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Turkey and the Philippines.

From the Saint Petersburg University of Management and Economics, the results of scientific research were presented by: Anna Rumyantseva, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, Associate Professor of the Department of International Finance and Accounting; Elena Sintsova, Head of the Department of International Finance and Accounting, Associate Professor of the Department of International Finance and Accounting; George Varlamov, Associate Professor of the Department of International Finance and Accounting; Mikhail Makarov, Associate Professor of the Department of International Finance and Accounting; Ksenia Kuzmina, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and State and Municipal Administration; Elena Ushakova, head of the Department of Management and State and Municipal Administration, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and State and Municipal Administration.

At the plenary session, UMTE was represented by George Varlamov, who shared the results of a study on the topic “The role of universities in the digitalization of the Russian economy.” Universities today, along with training highly qualified specialists for the national economy, conduct innovative scientific research, implement the “third mission” of universities, and are themselves in the process of digital transformation. Considering the relevance of this issue for conference participants from universities in different countries, the report aroused great interest among listeners and wide discussion.

After the general session, the conference continued with parallel sessions in which researchers shared their scientific findings. Ksenia Kuzmina together with Elena Ushakova presented the results of a study on risk management and approaches to creating the culture of an innovative company. As part of her session, Ksenia Kuzmina's report was honored as "Best Speaker".

Elena Sintsova presented a report on the topic “Prospects for the introduction of digital currency to ensure financial inclusion in Russia” based on scientific research carried out jointly with Anna Rumyantseva and Mikhail Makarov. The issue of introducing a digital ruble in Russia aroused great interest and numerous questions from session participants.

Based on the results of the conference, a collection of articles will be published and indexed in the Scopus database.
