12 February 2024

We are starting series of reports on the university achievements recognized in Moscow on large federal projects, in the presentation of which our students took part, and on the students’ impressions of the participation.

Recently, our university got the opportunity to present its achievements at the main exhibition platform of the country - VDNH. The profile day of the Youth Russia Forum was dedicated to the projects that contributed to the development of youth policy at the local level. The presentation of large-scale federal projects and open meetings with opinion leaders were held. The UMTE representatives exchanged experience with colleagues, took part in lectures and master classes, cultural, educational and business tracks of the forum, walked between the Oka and Volga rivers, visited the cockpit of a huge airplane and touched a model of a space rocket.

On the eve of the RUSSIA EXPO, a solemn conference “Education and Worldview” was held at VDNH, where the winners and laureates of the national contest “The Best Lecturer of the Discipline “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” in Educational Organizations of Higher Education” were solemnly awarded. The contest was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia in cooperation with the Russian “Znanie” (“Knowledge”) Society, and the “DNA of Russia” project.

The winner of the competition was Maxim Kolmogorov, a lecturer at the Department of Civil Law and Process of UMTE, who presented a video lecture on “Civilizational Approach: Opportunities and Limitations” to the expert committee.

The UMTE Student Choir represented the youth of St. Petersburg, by proudly and inspiringly singing the “Anthem to the Great City”.
Ernest Mackevicius, Russian journalist and TV presenter, during a conversation with Svetlana Avdashkevich, the First Vice-Rector of UMTE, and Marina Dishchenko, Assistant to the First Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy, encouraged the students of “Media Communications” educational program and wish them good luck.

At the exhibition, the participants also exchanged opinions and experiences in the implementation of youth policy in universities. In particular, Svetlana Avdashkevich, First Vice-Rector, and Vladimir Dmitriev, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Work with Applicants, had an informal meeting with Irina Ganus, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg.

Ksenia Kuzmina, Associate Professor of the Department of International Finance and Accounting, commented on the visit to the exhibition: “The Forum cultural program offered both students and teachers wonderful opportunities for self-development. For example, teachers and students together took part in a master class on self-presentation, listened to a number of interesting reports in the centers “Prosveschenie” (“Enlightenment”) and “Dom molodezhi” (“House of Youth”). But the stand spaces where the achievements of the Russian Federation regions were presented were particularly admired”.

A number of articles and interviews will be published on the website based on the results of the visit to the RUSSIA EXPO. Don't miss it!
