On March 23, 2023, UMTE and its Vocational School celebrated Nowruz.
Nowruz or No-Ruz is the national festivity celebrated by Iranian and Turkic peoples. It marks the first day of spring and is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox. The holiday is celebrated as the beginning of the new year by more than 300 million people all around the world and has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia and other regions.
This holiday is believed to promote the values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families as well as reconciliation and good neighbourliness, which contributes to the preservation of cultural diversity and the strengthening of friendship among peoples and different communities.
All the students came together to spend this festive spring day. Students read congratulations and poems in their native languages, sang national Kazakh and Azerbaijani songs and of course, danced a lot! After the performances, hosts invited everyone to the festive table with traditional treats.
