The visit took place as a part of the student tourism development program - "StudentTourism", developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, in which Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics has been participating since 2022, thanks to which our students get an additional opportunity to get to know Russia better and get acquainted with other universities.
Vladimir is a city with a thousand-year history, part of the Golden Ring of Russia. It is a major tourist center and it attracts travelers from all over the world. For 3 days our students visited many interesting historical places and cultural monuments of Vladimir and the Vladimir region.
The journey began in the city of Kirzhach, where the students walked along the longest pedestrian wooden bridge in Russia, visited the printing house that prints diplomas, and visited the Museum of Glacial Stones. Then they went to Vladimir, the grand duke's capital of northeastern Russia. The students saw unique historical and architectural monuments of the 12th century, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, such as Uspensky and Dmitrievsky Cathedrals and the Golden Gate. Also, the students were lucky to be at the Cherry festival, which is the pride and symbol of the city.
Another great place where the delegation from Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics managed to go was another city of the Golden Ring – Suzdal. It is famous for its ancient architecture – elegant white stone temples and monuments of wooden architecture. Thousands of tourists come here every year. In 2024, the city of Suzdal will celebrate its 1000th birthday. Surprisingly, here you can see buildings that are already 900 years old. Here the students got to the traditional summer Cucumber festival, which annually attracts thousands of tourists.
We thank Vladimir State University for the warm welcome and the opportunity to get acquainted with these amazing places and publish impressions of students.
Yana Surykina (first year student, Economics): "Student tourism is a great opportunity to see other cities, learn a lot of new things. The trip to Vladimir was remembered not only for excursions, beautiful architecture, but also for pleasant company. Thanks to the university for this opportunity!".
Eduard Glinsky (third year student, Jurisprudence): "The trip to Vladimir will definitely remain in my memory for many years. During all this time, we have learned a lot about the local culture, sights and much more. We managed to explore not only Vladimir, but also other cities: Suzdal, Kirzhach."

Vladimir, a historical city located in the heart of Russia, amazed me with its beauty, rich culture and hospitality of its people. This city inspires and grabs with its uniqueness. I would recommend visiting Vladimir to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in Russian history and enjoy its beauty."
Alyona Frolova (second year student, Economics): "The trip to Vladimir left a lot of colorful impressions. We managed to learn a lot of interesting facts about the local culture and the city as a whole. It is incredibly beautiful and cozy. Everything around seemed to be imbued with history, it was very nice to feel like a part of it. This trip is a great experience! I would love to repeat the journey."
We remind you that as part of the "StudentTourism-2023" program, university students have already visited Kazan and headed to Veliky Novgorod. And since the Saint Petersburg University of Management and Economics Technologies is both the guiding and the receiving party, students from Moscow, Kazan, Tyumen, Perm, Omsk and other cities of Russia came to us.
